In Phoenix...at the hotel..night before Germany!!

Seth and I are departing for Berlin bright and early tomorrow. Berlin is approximately 9 hours ahead of Pacific time and we get there on Thursday morning at 9:30 am. Seth's plan is for us to visit a concentration camp right away and on Friday, we have paid and made a reservation for the Berlin walking tour.
I wanted to post some pictures from the past couple of months to share, but the internet connection here isn't letting me do so. =( The past few weeks have been a crazy blur. Seth and I got to Tucson, set up home, ran errands, got car insurance, spent the morning at the DMV, and did all the fun things of new a move. Our Arizona license lasts until we are 65 so we chuckle about it and I will probably try to not get another license when we move to another state!
My parents arrived last Thursday and then my brother flew in on Saturday. It was so great to have my parents around as they brought tons of houseware items that they didn't use and LOTS of food. My parents stocked up the kitchen with items I love from my childhood including chocolate covered cookies, crackers, and chocolate covered macademia nuts. My dad also made his famous dumplings for Seth and I to leave in the freezer so that if we didn't feel like cooking, we can just boil those and then fry them up. It was really nice to have family dinners and just sit around and chat. I just love being around the family even if we aren't doing anything special. When my brother arrived, he was so sweet and he brought me one of my favorite things, a chocolate cake from Extraordinary Desserts: www.extraordinarydesserts.com/
The cakes at this place are divine!!! I wished that my parents lived closer to this place as both locations in San Diego are about 30 minutes from their home, but I'm glad that they don't or else I would have no money from eating too much cake!
We also took a trip down to South Tucson to try out BK's Hotdogs versus El Guero Canelo which are famous for their competing Sonoran hotdogs. They were pretty good, but we all decided that we are BK fans. I first saw these two restaurants pitted against each other on the Travel Channel and so it was really fun to see the places in person!

Anyhow, I am very excited about Germany, but I'm going to go brush up on some more googling of German items since Seth and I discovered at dinner tonite that neither of us really know anything about Germany food. Anyhow, I'll try to update some pics when I'm in germany, but I'm sure that I'll have spotty internet. :( Until next time..may you find happy thoughts, sunshine, and laughter heading your way!
